How did you find out about Warwick?

I knew about Warwick because one of my high school teachers told me that Warwick was a very good university, extremely outstanding in mathematics, and business majors. Then when I heard that the math major was particularly outstanding, it made me interested in this university. Then I went to search as well as consult about other aspects of this university. Then I found out that the environment of the university is very suitable for studying, as well as some building facilities of the university, societies, which are very suitable for me. Finally, I applied to the University of Warwick.

Did you consider studying anywhere else? What made you choose Warwick?

Warwick is a very special university, she is very young, the only one in the top ten universities in the UK that has been ranked steadily over the years and is not over 100 years old. And I think young universities are more innovative than the average university, so youth does not affect her excellence. Warwick has outstanding research capabilities in many majors, especially Warwick Business School, which enjoys a high international reputation, and is also a very diverse university, so I can study with the world's future elites, and making friends will be very enjoyable. And I am very interested in the curriculum of MORSE in Warwick, which is very suitable for my own future plan. Moreover, Warwick is a target school for many companies, which will help me in my future career. As far as I know, there is a very strong learning atmosphere in this university. So these are the reasons why I choose Warwick.

How did you feel to be awarded a scholarship?

I feel that I am very honored to receive a scholarship from the school. For me, getting a scholarship is not my goal, it should be considered a windfall in my efforts to achieve my goal. But it is an honor that belongs to me, an affirmation, and an encouragement for my efforts. Because I won the scholarship, it will make me more confident and motivated to continue to work hard. It gives me the motivation to move forward with a higher pursuit in my mind. I hope I can become a famous alumnus of Warwick University in the future.

Who was the first person you told when you received the news about your scholarship and how did they react?

When I received the scholarship, the first person I told was the personal tutor of the foundational year, because my tutor helped me a lot in this year of matriculation, and when I had a lot of problems, I would ask him for advice. He was very patient in answering my questions and helped me solve a lot of confusion. When my personal tutor found out the news, he first congratulated me and was very excited, and then immediately called me on teams for a video call and chats, I was very excited as well as he was, and my personal tutor felt very proud that the student he brought out got the scholarship.

How did you apply and did anyone help you with your application form and visa application?

I filled out the scholarship application form and the visa application by myself. When I was filling out the scholarship application form, I answered the five questions by putting together my real thoughts and some of my experiences. When I applied for the visa, I searched online for some information and what information I needed to provide, researched and applied for the visa online by myself, and finally, I got the visa successfully.

What was your first impression of Warwick when you first walked around campus?

My first walk in Warwick was in the evening and the sky was very nice with very pretty dusk and evening sun. Occasionally there were a few squirrels and rabbits out in the grove. It made me feel that Warwick is a great university to study and live in. As I was walking near the university gymnasium, I was shocked when I saw the gymnasium, how could there be such a big and luxurious gymnasium, which made me feel very excited about my future campus life.

What is the best thing about Warwick?

I think the best thing about Warwick is that I met a lot of very nice students, they are all very friendly because my first language is not English, sometimes I can't understand what they are saying, but when I don't understand, I ask them again, they will be very patient and say it again to me, which makes me feel very warm. Another very good thing is that the design of Warwick's academic buildings and gymnasiums are very good, which I like very much and I always want to stay in them for a while.

What is the worst thing?

I think there is nothing particularly bad in Warwick, I have to say a little, I think it is less shopping in the school center, Rootes Grocery, in addition to this is the need to buy over Tesco, but Tesco from the school center and there are some far away, each time we walk longer walk time is a little inconvenient.

How is your accommodation?

I lived in an on-campus dormitory called Rootes because I was assigned the shared bathroom, but it was a lot better than I expected, and there was almost no line whenever I wanted to use the bathroom. Also, my roommates were from different countries, and they were all very welcoming. When we talk, we often share the different cultures of our countries, and sometimes we have parties, so we can relax a bit after studying.

Are you a member of any societies?

I have joined the Chinese Development Society, which is a very good society. Recently the management of the society called all the members of the society to meet and talk about the mission of the society and the goals that need to be accomplished this year. I am really looking forward to this year's club experience. Then the first task we are currently working on is the Food Channel, the main purpose of which is to promote Chinese food. My group and I have cooked up a few dishes and taken some small videos and photos, and then we will put together some copy and post it to the CDS public for everyone to see.

What are your plans when you graduate?

My goal is to work in an investment bank after graduation. As you know, investment banking is a very competitive position where the fittest will survive and those who are not capable will be eliminated, which will motivate me to keep learning to become better and better. My ultimate goal is to become at least an ED or higher in an investment bank.

What would you say to someone considering applying for an Undergraduate Global Excellence scholarship at Warwick, what would it be?

You have to fill out those questions on the scholarship application properly and then study hard to reach the score required by Warwick University. Come on, work hard, make yourself better, and the scholarship will meet you without an appointment.

What one thing makes you happy about Warwick?

What makes me feel very happy at Warwick is that the study atmosphere in the university is very good, which is the study atmosphere of a famous university. Every time I go to the library to study, no matter in the morning or in the evening, there are many students in the library already studying, and when I see this scene, it makes me more motivated to study hard.
