One of my friend back in Taiwan is also studying in Warwick, as she introduced me a lot about this school, I eventually decided to get into Warwick.
Who was the first person you told when you received the news about your scholarship and how did they react?
The first person I told when receiving this scholarship is my mom. She was so surprised about it as in her mind I was just a moderate student. But I proved to
her that I'm valuable with this scholarship.
Did anyone help you with your scholarship application form and/or visa application? Any difficulties?
I have a hand from my high school teacher when facing the application, while the most difficult part of it is that, as an Asian student and been through traditional
Asian educations, we usually being moderate on most of the things, also when talking about ourselves. However, to applying such things as scholarships, we
are told to say what we are good at and what I have, which is not a thing we normally talking about, and was a pain in the neck for me.
What was your first impression of Warwick when you first walked around campus?
My first impression of Warwick when I first walked around campus is that, THIS CAMPUS IS HUGE. Not sure if this is an average size for most of the school in
other countries. But as a student who stayed in Taiwan for his whole life so far, the campus of Warwick is, to be exaggerate, as big as his home town.
What is your favourite part about the University of Warwick?
My favourite part about Warwick is that the people i met so far are kind and willing to help, no matter students or staff, still remember the first day of the
first year I landed in Warwick, the staff drove me to get key to my flat, and we chatted on the way, I talked so slow with my poor English, and he talked with
patience with me.

My least favourite part about the University of Warwick is the traffic. While Warwick is not the one to be blamed but is part of my Warwick life.
What are your impressions of your accommodation? Is this on campus/off campus?
My accommodation of my foundation year is in Tocil, on campus. The impression of it is small, cheap, and fun. We have 12 people in our flat, it's fun that
you can always find someone to help you or talk to but it's not fun to share a such small kitchen with these much people.
What do you plan to do when you graduate?
My plan after graduate is to find a company to work in, best to be related to financial aspect such as bank.
How has receiving a scholarship helped you to make the most of your experience from the opportunities at
Warwick?
Receiving a scholarship means a lot to me in my student life as I'm not urgently finding a part-time job anymore. Also, I can put the spare time into something
more beneficial, such as society, sport, and being social with my friends.
Did receiving a scholarship encourage you to engage with other scholarship recipients from other
nationalities/cultural backgrounds?
It does.
How did the University of Warwick help in easing you into living in a new country/environment?
At the foundation year when arriving UK, when I have any questions related to BRP, Visa, I can always turn to my personal tutor for assistances, they even help
me when I'm opening an account.
Also, the website of Warwick makes us easy to get files that we needed when opening an bank account such as bank letter.
What is one standout memory from your time at Warwick so far?
The most standout memory is the end of my foundation year, me and my friends were dressing in suits, taking pictures in the hall, dancing with teachers in the
dance floor.
