How did you find out about Warwick?
I heard about Warwick from my school as it was a popular choice in my school.
Did you consider studying anywhere else? What made you choose Warwick?
Warwick Business School is a very prestigious school for business in the UK and I prefer the purely academic focus in the UK compared to other countries.
How did you feel to be awarded a scholarship?
It felt amazing because it is very difficult to obtain a scholarship, especially in the UK. I was very excited because it significantly lessened my parents' burden and allowed me to pursue an education in the UK which would otherwise not have been possible.
Who was the first person you told when you received the news about your scholarship and how did they react?
I told my mother first after I woke up to an email. She was very excited for me because it is amazing to be awarded a scholarship especially for students from Singapore.
How did you apply and did anyone help you with your application form and visa application?
I applied through the Warwick website and my friends would help me to proof read for grammar mistakes and my Warwick Singapore coordinator helped with the visa application.
What was your first impression of Warwick when you first walked around campus?
My first impression of Warwick was amazing because the campus is very beautiful and very peaceful. It is very modern and it is a very exciting campus.
What is the best thing about Warwick?
The best thing about Warwick is the people around me. I think Warwick does a very good job in assigning your flatmates because I get along extremely well with them. I am excited at the kind of community I have here.
What is the worst thing?
The weather is always gloomy.
How is your accommodation?
I love my accommodation because it is very close to central campus and my flatmates are very fun-loving and hard-working.
Are you a member of any societies? If so, what have you done with them?
I am a member of Warwick Hedge Fund Society and the Warwick Singapore Society. I participate in socials especially for the Singapore society and it is good that I am able to connect with people even far away from home.
What are your plans when you graduate?
I wish to enter the finance sector as I really love the analysis and calculations behind it.
What would you say to someone considering applying for an Undergraduate Global Excellence scholarship at Warwick, what would it be?
