How did you find out about Warwick?
I heard about this university from a cousin who was based in the UK and after researching more about Universities abroad, I received many insights from the internet.
Did you consider studying anywhere else? What made you choose Warwick?
The United Kingdom, especially the University of Warwick has huge student cross-culture environment which promotes students to explore more and achieve various unthought possibilities. It is one of the best institute research wise , which is clearly required in the Data Science. Moreover it has an integrated teaching faculty which lures me.
How did you feel to be awarded a scholarship?
Honestly, I was overwhelmed with a lot of emotions. The joy of receiving a scholarship, the relief of the hard work paying off, and more confidence on God for blessing me.
Who was the first person you told when you received the news about your scholarship and how did they react?
The first I told was my mother , she was stumped for a few seconds and cried of happiness. She ran upstairs to tell my Dad and soon after we all headed for the temple to express our gratitude to the God for his ultimate blessings.
How did you apply and did anyone help you with your application form and visa application?
The application was very intricate so I took my time to write and proof read. I did not take any external help except for reading all the matter in front of my mother to gain more confidence before submitting my application.
What was your first impression of Warwick when you first walked around campus?
The campus life is very different. It is a small world in itself. There is greenery all around and everything seems so welcoming. Walking around the campus is like hugging nature and embracing it.
What is the best thing about Warwick?
With so many things going on in the university which fascinate you, it is really hard to pick one that's the best to put that tag on. The Nightline Services, WellBeing Support, Residential Life Team, Teaching faculty and of course the societies are few of the numerous things which can incite any person.
What is the worst thing?
There is honestly nothing I have come across which can be pointed out as bad, let alone worst, in this University.
How is your accommodation?
My accommodation is on campus - Lakeside Residences. It gives a rustic homely vibe and the Residential Life Hub is right next to us which is also
Are you a member of any societies? If so, what have you done with them?
I am currently a member of eight societies, three of which are Indian but the rest are diverse. TedX, Women Careers Society , Warwick Data Science Society and more. I have been to coding night, circling events and open nights. I even attended the WWCS's talk with execs where they helped everyone out with their CV and resumes.
What are your plans when you graduate?
I am not very sure of the route I should pursue, but I plan to decide on it when I'm midway my year two. My course so intricate and fast that I feel doing just to my course and my passion is by pursuing it more and doing post graduation.
What would you say to someone considering applying for an Undergraduate Global Excellence scholarship at Warwick, what would it be?
One thing I would recommend is not to overthink about the application and be natural because the best answer to any question in the application is simply what your spontaneous response to the question is. Speak Up, Speak Out and Be Heard.
What one thing makes you happy about Warwick?
One thing that I love is how welcoming everybody is and everybody including the Professors try their best to make us feel at home. So far away from home, it gets easier to adapt to everything when people offer such level of comfort.
