Pre-University Summer School course studied: A Taste of Economics and Finance in 2024

What encouraged you to choose to join the Warwick Summer School?

Warwick is a university well known for its incredible economics degrees, courses and results. However, what encouraged me most was the employability scores of graduates from Warwick.

What skills and knowledge did you gained during the 10 days that you have found most beneficial?

On top of the useful insights I got into personal statement writing; over this course I found that my mind was refined to think cohesively regarding economics, allowing me to piece together different aspects and their importance. I was introduced to university level game theory, behavioural, environmental economics and finance in the 21st century.

Did you build any new friendships during your time on the summer school?

I built many new friendships during my time on the summer school, all from various and intriguing backgrounds who I have actively kept in contact with since the summer school.

What was your highlight of taking part in Warwick Summer School?

The friends I made and the approachable nature the course ambassadors and lecturers had. Other than that, the access to sporting activities was perfect for downtime from studying while furthering my friendships and comradery with the students on the course.

What advice would you give to future students participating in the Warwick Summer School to get the most out of the programme?

Ensure you do your best to listen and take notes during the lectures as there are many concepts within them that are incredibly important for further studies and understanding of economics and finance for the A level and university economics courses.
