Reflections on Green Week 2023: Dealing with Eco-Anxiety - Lianna Ng
As someone who is very passionate about environmentalism, I consume a lot of information about environmental issues, either for personal interest, for my GSD modules or simply because they come up on social media and the news. However, I believe I am not alone in saying that this can get very overwhelming at times – being worried about the future, feeling frustrated at those who I believe are responsible for causing the damage, and most of all, feeling completely powerless in the face of certain concerning developments.
I am therefore very glad that Denver Thorpe (from the university’s Wellbeing Support Services) gave a presentation on ecoanxiety during Green Week. She offered a range of tips for managing eco-anxiety, which I summarised in the following guide as I believe they are useful to all of us.
