Watch Out for our Sleepy, Spiky Campus Pals: The Perils of the Erinaceus Europaeus (a.k.a. the Hedgehog)

When you think of campus life, you probably picture busy students and caffeine-fuelled all-nighters. But guess what? Beneath the hedgerows and around the Student Union and Rootes Grocery Store dumpsters, there’s a quieter, nocturnal community trying to survive: the (adorable!) hedgehogs.

Mycelia is a multimedia exhibition celebrating the relationship between humans and plants, and will be held on Wednesday 15th March, 17:00-20:00 in FAB0.20. During Green Week, Lewis Dobbs, a final-year Media and Creative Industries student and creator of the exhibition gave an introductory presentation for the exhibition.

After living off their body fat during the winter, their quest for food can mean they travel around two miles a night. Which is why it is so important to create a hedgehog highway so they can move freely between gardens.
