"For or Against Nature: Philosophy and the Climate Crisis"S0.18 (Social Sciences Building)"Nature is a slippery concept. It has been used to justify slavery, patriarchy and colonial domination. Yet it also allows us to talk about the material conditions of our existence, which is now under threat. In a time of climate emergency, should we be for or against nature? I argue for a new concept of nature that is not determined by human action but is the horizon of our very capacity to act." - Andrew Cooper 5-6pm 17th November in S0.18 (Social Sciences Building). See you there! |
