What is Resonate?
Warwick Institute of Engagement public engagement events are branded and advertised under the banner of 'Resonate'.
The Resonate programme was originally designed as Warwick's output for Coventry City of Culture in 2021. After a successful first year, the Resonate brand was recognisable to local members of the public. By branding ourselves this way, we have found that our events appear more inviting to public audiences. You can check out the Resonate website hereLink opens in a new window.
We run three festivals throughout the academic year; the Resonate Festival of Social Science (in collaboration with the ESRC Festival of Social Science), the Resonate Festival of Science and Technology and the Resonate Festival of Arts and Culture. Each festival consists of an all-ages 'Day Out' and multiple 'Resonate Lates' designed for an adult audience. To find out more, check out our Events Calendar here.
We hold public events on campus and at various community venues across Coventry and Warwickshire. We work collaboratively with Warwick staff (academic, technical and professional services), students and local partners.
Audience First Engagement
The Resonate programme runs on an 'audience first' ethos. Meaningful engagement has to be relevant and accessible to members of our local community. As such, we pay close attention to all feedback given at our events. We spent some time reflecting on this over the summer of 2024 and created the following public pledge.
Our Resonate Pledge 2024-2025
- We’ll provide clear age ranges for individual activities to make planning your day at our festivals easier
-
We’ll provide more information in advance about parking, refreshments and facilities at both our university campus and local venues we are visiting for events
-
We’ll make it easier for you to share your ideas to help us design the best programme for our local community
- We’ll work towards improving our online offering, including more interactive virtual events and launching “Resonate at Home” – activities, videos and more you can enjoy in your own time
