Coventry locals help build new miscarriage support tool

The new online tool helps women who previously had a miscarriage understand their chance of a successful pregnancy, as well as access personalised advice on tests, treatment and lifestyle changes. Professor Siobhan Quenby, who is also a consultant at University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire, analysed data from people who attended the Coventry Miscarriage Clinic, including Coventry locals, to give the tool a clinical grounding.

£1.5m Crop Research Centre opens at University of Warwick

A facility using gene-editing technology to improve quality, resilience and sustainability of vegetable crops has opened at the University of Warwick's Wellesbourne campus, on the outskirts of Stratford-upon-Avon in South Warwickshire. The new Centre, funded by philanthropic donations from the Elizabeth Creak Charitable Trust and the estate of Jim Brewster, who was a research scientist at the former National Vegetable Research Station in Wellesbourne, adds to Warwick’s world leading expertise in crops and plant breeding. Elizabeth Creak was Warwickshire’s first female High Sheriff and ran a 2,000-acre dairy farm in the county.
