ICUR 2017 abstract submission deadline: 20 May

The fifth annual International Conference of Undergraduate Research (ICUR) will be held 26-27 September 2017 and is open to undergraduate researchers from any discipline; submit your abstract of 250 words by 20 May for the chance to present to an audience around the world via state of the art video conferencing. Or if you are a staff member, please encourage your undergraduates to participate.

IATL director collects honourable mention for ICUR at the 2017 Andrew Heiskell Awards for Innovation in International Education

The Institute of International Education presented its prestigious Heiskell Awards in Miami in March. IATL’s director, Dr Nicholas Monk, was there to collect an honourable mention for the International Conference of Undergraduate Research (ICUR) in the ‘International Partnerships’ category. HE institutions from around the world entered the process, which seeks to recognise progress towards eliminating institutional barriers, furthering internationalisation, and broadening the base of participation.

IATL undergraduate modules: online registration now open

On an IATL module you will work with students and lecturers from right across the university, developing new ways of understanding the world by making connections between ideas, experiences and practice. Our modules are available to second years and above, in a variety of CATS weightings. New for 2017/18 are: Computer Modelling for All (IL027); Gender and Violence (IL026).

Should we ban television advertising aimed at children?

Undergraduates and postgraduates are invited to take part in a unique, IATL-funded public policy event modelled on a Citizens' Jury. Deliberate about and vote on public policy concerning advertising to children on television, all in the presence of expert witnesses from academia and industry.
