IATL-hosted workshop for Innovative Food Systems Teaching and Learning (IFSTAL)
IATL hosted a pedagogic workshop for the HEFCE-funded project on Innovative Food Systems Teaching and Learning (IFSTAL) in April to support their teaching and learning aims, with a specific focus on best practice in interdisciplinary education.
IATL team update
IATL has recently welcomed three new members of the team; two existing team members will be going on maternity leave at the end of May.

Concepts of Habitability: A Competition
The Interdisciplinary Centre for Habitability (ICH) and IATL invite submissions to "Concepts of Habitability", a competition exploring concepts of habitability both on our and other worlds. This is open to all students, undergraduate and postgraduate, and welcomes submissions in any medium.

A sustainability working group is shaping the vision and getting input from staff and students across the University community through interviews and focus groups. Now is your chance to get involved. Student as Producer Performances of 'Calm Down, Dear'

Calm Down, Dear is a devised project exploring issues of women’s speech and silence in contemporary society. It asks the question: How do the politics of women’s voices play out in the every day experiences of women, and in the popular media discourse, how can we learn to hear authority in the female voice.
Be Afraid! Be Very Afraid!

Why do we read tragedy, melodrama and horror fiction which evoke fear and sadness? How do we enjoy them?
These are the research questions guiding this interdisciplinary workshop featuring Pamela Gilbert of the University of Florida in conversation with respondents from different fields at Warwick. We invite all postgraduate students, early career fellows and others to join us for lunch, followed by a lively discussion on the relationship between physiology, psychology, neuroscience, art and literature.
Francesca Iezzi - Early Career Fellowship
IATL and IAS are pleased to welcome Francesca Iezzi as the first recipient of an IATL/IAS Early Career Fellowship. Francesca recently completed her PhD in the Mathematics department under the supervision of Professor Brian Bowditch and started her Fellowship at the beginning of April. She will be undertaking a project in the area of research-led teaching for IATL and will be participating in the ACE programme and organising a research-orientated workshop for IAS.
