Mine Oweh began studying Philosophy, Politics and Economics in 2021, taking IL116 The Science of Music along with IL131 Serious Tabletop Game Design and Development as 3rd-year module options.
About the Project
The intersection of science and music is not foreign to the pages of history. Our project investigates this with a specific focus on film music. Thus, we produced our short film, ‘Lingering’, in order to explore the relationship between picture/film and sound, and how these work to affect viewers.
We scripted, filmed, edited, composed, recorded, and mixed a musical score to produce a short film. We did this to investigate music's storytelling power and explore film music's psychological effect on the viewers. We found that music had a significant storytelling presence by screening a scene with and without music.
