Isolation Diaries
To capture the ‘now’, the interview team has compiled a series of COVID-19 diaries, demonstrating the impact isolation has had on Warwick’s community. The idea has come from multiple people posting vlogs online sharing their experiences in quarantine. In this project, Christopher Hofmann interviews multiple people ranging from professors, to ex-alumni and current students, asking them about their isolation experiences. Their experiences are categorised into 5 different videos: “Productivity”, “Happiness”, “Challenges”, “Advice” and “Post-isolation”. Visually, Christopher includes parts of his original interviews, thus representing the newfound, virtual nature of the majority of our face-to-face interactions during quarantine. Alongside this, panning shots of both Leamington Spa and the university’s campus, and images of window NHS rainbows supplement the video to remind students and viewers of their home and to furthermore demonstrate the current ‘community-feeling’ present all over the United Kingdom.
