We have three main research clusters:
- Art in Italy 1200–1700
- British Art and Architecture since 1750
- Philosophy, Theory, Historiography
We have made new appointments to reinforce specialist expertise in these areas. Although staff work across a wide variety of fields, from late medieval to contemporary art, we are united by the shared conviction that research is most rewarding when implemented within a live context of exhibitions, symposia, conferences or criticism.
Student Research News
Our active postgraduate research community is involved in organising conferences, workshops, lectures and reading groups related to their research.
Alongside the URSS (Undergraduate Research Support Scheme) our undergraduate students also have the opportunity to work on current research projects in the department.
