Funding from the EMF
The Early Modern Forum is offering funding to support conferences at Warwick, and to bring visiting fellows to Warwick. Please see below for details, and apply using the forms in the navigation bar above.
Conference Support
The deadline for the first round of funding is 31st October 2012. Depending upon the strength of applications, further rounds may be offered. All members of academic staff and graduate students are eligible to apply.
The Early Modern Forum is offering funding towards, and administrative support for, conferences being held at Warwick University in any discipline or interdisciplinary combination, in the field of early modern studies (c. 1450-1850). The funding, of up to £1000, can be for any purpose involved with the conference. Examples would include: travel costs for a keynote speaker, funding a wine reception, paying for postgraduate assistance with podcasting or administration. The Forum will host a conference web-page and provide administrative assistance where necessary. This may include receiving abstracts through a web-form, dealing with correspondence, booking rooms, catering and accommodation, and assisting with all digital elements of the event.
Priority will be given to applications which meet any or all of the following criteria:
• Involve contributions (whether physical or virtual) from our partner institutions: the Sorbonne, Yale, Vanderbilt, Boston, the USC-Huntington EMSI and the Huntington Library.
• Intend to either stream sessions online, or have papers delivered from elsewhere.
• Will provide digital outputs or projects in the form of podcasts, on-going post event discussions on the Forum, or developing a collaborative project which makes use of the Forum.

Visiting Fellowships
All members of academic staff and graduate students are eligible to nominate a visiting fellow, provided they have the support of their head of department. We will cover return flights and transport to Warwick, accommodation for the duration of the stay, and reasonable associated expenses.
The visiting fellowship scheme aims to strengthen the links between Warwick and our partners in the Early Modern Forum project: the Sorbonne, Boston, Vanderbilt, Yale, the USC-Huntington EMSI and the Huntington Library. We offer funding to invite senior or (exceptionally) early career scholars from our partner institutions to Warwick for a short period of time (3 days to a week), where they will participate in a variety of academic activities.
We expect that the fellow being invited will not only contribute to the nominator’s own research, but also to the wider community. Applicants should therefore identify events and activities which the proposed Visiting Fellow will contribute to or lead which enhance the research programmes and profiles of wider research groups within the university.
