Composite calendar

This is a composite calendar page template pulling in feeds from events calendars in department and research centre sites. It is purely used as a tool to collect the event details before filtering through to a publicly-visible calendar filter page template. To remove or add a feed to this composite calendar, please contact the IT Services Web Team (webteam at warwick dot ac dot uk).

How do I use this calendar?

You can click on an event to display further information about it.

The toolbar above the calendar has buttons to view different events. Use the left and right arrow icons to view events in the past and future. The button inbetween returns you to today's view. The button to the right of this shows a mini-calendar to let you quickly jump to any date.

The dropdown box on the right allows you to see a different view of the calendar, such as an agenda or a termly view.

If this calendar has tags, you can use the labelled checkboxes at the top of the page to select just the tags you wish to view, and then click "Show selected". The calendar will be redisplayed with just the events related to these tags, making it easier to find what you're looking for.

Growth for Good - EconSoc event
FAB0.03

Growth for Good

In the past, humanity has had little concern for the ecological effects of its pursuit for economic progress. In recent times it has become clear that this disregard for sustainability cannot continue. But does this force us to abandon our hopes of economic growth? Can we instead enrol our economic system in the fight against climate change? And if so, how? These questions are the subject of Alessio Terzi’s new book, Growth for Good, which puts forward a credible strategy to harness capitalism in the fight against climate change. Join Alessio in FAB0.03 at 3pm on the 20th of February, alongside Professor Ludovica Gazze, for a discussion of these ideas and a chance to ask your own questions!

Please note: EconSoc have confirmed that students don’t need to register for this event beforehand.

The Digital Frontier? New Approaches to Literary and Translation Studies, History and Music

The Digital Frontier? New Approaches to Literary and Translation Studies, History and Music

Giovanni Pietro Villani (Université de Versailles Saint-Quentin - Paris Saclay) in conversation with

Federica Coluzzi (Italian/CDI, Warwick)

While it is difficult to answer the question what are the digital humanities, empirically it becomes easier to show what advantages digital brings to research in the humanities. The aim of this talk is to show the inside of a digital laboratory in order to show what are the reflections, failures and successes of using informatics applied to different fields of the humanities. Examples will be shown of studies carried out in the English-speaking, Italian-speaking Francophone and Spanish-speaking areas relating to procedures typical of literary analysis and studies of translation, (socio)linguistics, history and music.
