Marta is PhD candidate at the Centre for the Study of the Renaissance. Her research project analyzes the influence of Sallust in the works of major figures of the European Renaissance such as Coluccio Salutati, Leonardo Bruni, Poggio Bracciolini, Niccolò Machiavelli, Jean Bodin and Justus Lipsius. Her supervisors are Professor David Lines and Professor Ingrid De Smet. Marta received Chancellor’s International Scholarship from the University of Warwick Doctoral College in 2023. She took both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees with Distinction at the University of Florence. Her research interests involve Petrarch, Petrarch’s handwriting and his marginalia in his manuscripts, Humanism, the Classics and their reception throughout centuries, the political thought of the Renaissance.
