ISEP Accreditation
>

The Institute for Sustainability and Environmental Professionals (ISEP) is the global professional body for individuals and organisations working and studying in sustainability and the environment. Since 2023, all of our undergraduate courses in Global Sustainable Development are now accredited by ISEP, meaning that our students receive a professionally recognised level of knowledge, skills and tools for working in sustainability practice. As a result, all current students and recent graduates are eligible for membership of IEMA.
As a student in GSD, you can receive a free student membership of ISEP (see details below for joining) and upon completion of the course, will qualify for Graduate Membership of ISEP and the ability to use the GradIEMA title, after your name.
ISEP membership is increasingly a requirement for many international employers in sustainability and a valued qualification of professional competence. Graduate members can “Fast track” to Practitioner Membership (PISEP) following successful completion of a work-based assessment of competence; notably, our recent graduate Maddie Booth, is a proud PISEP!
With over 18,500 members worldwide, ISEP are the professional organisation at the centre of the sustainability agenda, connecting business and individuals across industries, sectors and borders. Membership gives you access to publications, training opportunities, events and the opportunity to network with other students and professionals within the environment and sustainability space. You can do this through regional events, the ISEP Futures network (the network for students, graduates and early-career professionals), and ISEP’s annual members-only conference. You can find out more about their networks and upcoming events on the ISEP website.
