    Teaching and research interests

Thi’s teaching and research interests lie in the area of social inequalities, with a particular focus on gender, race, migration, sexuality, and childhood and families, especially in how these intersect and manifest within educational settings. They are committed to creating inclusive learning environments that nurture students’ critical thinking and empower them to develop their own voices. Both in teaching and research, Thi values participatory and collaborative methodologies that share power and foreground the perspectives of those often marginalised in knowledge production. Their research includes work with international students in higher education, exploring experiences of belonging and how these shape everyday academic and social life, insights that directly inform their pedagogical practice. Thi has also collaborated on international development programmes in the area of gender and education, including the Lifting Barriers initiative, which further strengthens their commitment to education as a space for equity and transformation.
