The University of Warwick ranked 26th in the world for environmental sustainability

greenmetric

The Universitas Indonesia (UI) GreenMetric World University Rankings 2018 have placed Warwick in the world’s top universities for environmental sustainability.

Ranked 26th overall (out of 719 universities considered across 81 countries), the University of Warwick is among the top 4% in the world. The metric focuses on 6 different criteria: setting and infrastructure, energy and climate change, waste, water, transportation, and education and research.

A truly excellent result is the ranking in the 'education and research' indicator, where Warwick was placed 15th in the world and 5th in the United Kingdom, sitting just below the University of Oxford. The indicator includes information on sustainability-related courses, sustainability-related research funding and scholarly publications, as well as events and student organisations related to sustainability.

This was Warwick's first year of submitting information and an outstanding result, displaying evidence of a sustainability-conscious staff and student body, and the University's efforts towards a more environmentally sustainable campus.
