Two GSD students win Warwick 2019 Outstanding Student Contribution Awards (OSCAs)!

Many congratulations to Hannah Abdel-Hadi and Liam Shah, two of our GSD finalists, who have been jointly awarded one of the University's 2019 OSCAs. The awards will be presented to them at the GSD graduation ceremony, on 24th July.

The judging panel was impressed by their nomination, which referred to their work with Warwick SEED (Socio-Economic Engagement and Development). Hannah and Liam are indeed co-founders of Warwick SEED, a new society established at Warwick this academic year, encouraging students to embrace positive business impact and social impact careers. Warwick SEED organises opportunities to network with local, national and international social entrepreneurs. This year it has collaborated, among others, with social enterprises working on access to education and sanitation, biodiversity protection, food waste reduction, sustainable fashion, and empowerment of refugees and asylum seekers.

With the help of their executive team, Hannah and Liam were able to build a society from scratch, strengthening the relationship between Warwick and Monash Universities and facilitating partnerships across different student societies at Warwick. Their energy, efforts and passion will contribute significantly to Warwick’s student community, by setting a legacy of social impact creation and helping students at Warwick to pursue alternative careers pathways and collaborate with local and national businesses-for-good.
