Baroness Sheehan

Baroness Shaista Ahmad Sheehan is a director of Peers for the Planet (P4P), the cross-party House of Lords climate and biodiversity action group.

She is a former member of the House of Lords Select Committee for Science and Technology; previously she served for four years on the Lords’ EU Energy and Environment Select Committee.

She is a former spokesperson for her party, the Liberal Democrats, on immigration and International Development.

She served on Richmond Borough Council as a local councillor for Kew ward and as Assistant Cabinet Member for Climate Change. During that time she also sat on the Planning Committee, Children’s Services Committee and Health Committee.

She holds a Chemistry degree from UCL (1981) and a Masters degree (Distinction) from Imperial College London (1990).
