Biography

Herizo Andrianandrasana joined IGSD as a Research Fellow in July 2022. Prior to joining the University of Warwick, he was a civil servant in Madagascar, responsible for the environment in Analanjirofo and Analamanga. Prior to that, he was a conservation practitioner for Durrell Madagascar, with responsibility for ecological monitoring and protected areas.

Dr Andrianandrasana holds a DPhil (PhD) in evaluation methods from the Department of Zoology in the University of Oxford. His thesis was on 'Testing the effectiveness of community-based conservation in conserving biodiversity, protecting ecosystem services and improving human wellbeing in Madagascar'. He additionally holds a PgDip in International Wildlife Conservation from the Wildlife Conservation Research Unit (WildCrU) University of Oxford and an MSc and BSc in Forestry from the University of Antananarivo.
