Commonwealth Futures Climate Research Cohort
The Commonwealth Futures Climate Research Cohort is a training and research programme established by the Association of Commonwealth Universities and the British Council.
In the programme, leading UK climate change researchers will work closely with 20 selected early-career researchers from 10 low and middle-income countries, including Bangladesh, Egypt, Ghana, India, Kenya, Malaysia, Nigeria, Pakistan, South Africa, and Sri Lanka, to tackle their regional climate change challenges through knowledge exchange and research in the Global South. The early-career researchers will also receive training to improve their skills to design and lead research-to-action projects to support climate change mitigation and adaptation strategies.
IGSD researchers Dr Feng Mao, Dr Nikoleta Jones, and Dr Vangelis Pitidis are leading the Theme of Water Security in a Changing World to investigate topics such as inequality of water security, water for ecosystems, and water-related hazards.
