Information for Liberal Arts Students

In Year 2 and Final Year, Liberal Arts students are required to complete the following core modules:

  • Second Year: IP205 Consuming Cultures (30 CATS)
  • Final Year: IP302 Dissertation (30 CATS)

You will be automatically enrolled on the core Liberal Arts module (30 CATS) that you are required to complete. You do not need to pre-register for these modules.

In addition, Liberal Arts students need to complete at least 45 CATS of optional Liberal Arts modules between Year 2 and Final Year. You are welcome to complete all 45 CATS in a single year, or divide the 45 CATS across Year 2 and Final Year.

All of the modules listed below count towards the 45 CAT requirement. Please note that the selection of optional modules available is subject to change each year.

Warwick International Intensive Study Programme (WIISP)

Liberal Arts also offers two intensive modules which are taught in Venice. These modules count towards the 45 CAT requirement for Liberal Arts students. Venice modules are not listed here, as registration for these modules takes place later in the academic year.

Venice modules can only be taken in the summer before your final year of study, either at the end of Year 2, or at the end of study abroad / placement year. The CATS for modules taken in Venice are carried over into your final year. You can find out more about Liberal Arts in Venice here.

Information for External Students

We look forward to working with students from across the University on our Liberal Arts optional modules.

You are very welcome to register for any of the modules below. Unless indicated on the module page / form, there are no pre-requisites for these modules.

Please note that you must obtain the permission of your home department to register for these modules. Once you have received permission, please forward this to the Liberal Arts Undergraduate Office (liberalarts@warwick.ac.uk) before 5pm Monday 17 March 2025.

Completing the form

You can only submit this form once, but you can save your progress and make changes before submitting. The form closes at 5pm Monday 17 March 2025.

By completing the form, you are pre-registering on the selected modules: this lets us know that you would like to study the selected modules in 2025-2026, and requests a space for you on each of the selected modules.

Completing the form does not guarantee module availability, and does not commit you to studying the selected modules next year. Module enrolments are only official once confirmed via eVision, usually at the beginning of the next academic year.
