Erasmus+ Project: BLASTER
BLASTER (The Best in Liberal Arts and Sciences Teaching Expanded and Reinforced)
BLASTER is a collaborative research group of 6 institutions who secured Erasmus+ funding to undertake a major project on Liberal Arts and Science education in Europe. Along with the University of Warwick, the partners are University College Roosevelt (Netherlands), Leuphana University Lüneburg (Germany), Vytautas Magnus University (Lithuania), ECOLAS, and Leiden University (Netherlands). This project aimed to strengthen the quality and the relevance of European undergraduate education as a whole, and LAS in particular, by expanding and reinforcing the nascent LAS tradition.
Warwick was involved in two of the project's three strands:
- Teacher Training
- This strand produced a toolkit for teachers interested in Liberal Arts and Sciences teaching. Explore the outputs of this strand...
- In May 2017 the Bratislava Institute of Liberal Arts hosted an event to share best practice: find out more about the Teacher Training event, Interactive and Innovative Learning in the Liberal Arts
- Undergraduate Research
- We created an innovative online Companion to Undergraduate Research in the Liberal Arts and Sciences which showcases best practice and provides advice and guidance to institutions who wish to embed UG research in their curricula, and to the students who are interested in carrying out UG research. - In September 2017 the University of Warwick hosted the Undergraduate Research in the Liberal Arts Symposium at which we celebrated the launch of the Companion to Undergraduate Research in the Liberal Arts and the publication of the special issue of Reinvention: an International Journal of Undergraduate Research.
