Teaching Paradises, Dr Bryan Brazeau
The essay, entitled “Welcome to Paradise: The Earthly Paradise Topos as Pedagogical Structuring Principle”, appears in Teaching the Italian Romance Epic, edited by Jo Ann Cavallo and published by the Modern Language Association as part of their “Options for Teaching” series.
While this particular essay discusses literary texts, a number of the problems it considers have informed the development of his interdisciplinary module: IP305 - Posthumous Geographies II: Paradises. The essay also features a useful section on digital resources for teaching and a brief reflection on assessment methods.
