Professor Jo Angouri appointed as Deputy Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Education and Internationalisation

Professor Jo Angouri has been appointed as Deputy Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Education and Internationalisation with immediate effect. Jo will work closely with Professor Lorenzo Frigerio, Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Education) and Professor Michael Scott, Pro-Vice-Chancellor (International) to lead on the further development and scaling up of our international education offering. Jo will focus on strengthening and increasing our mobility schemes with strategic partners, the internationalisation of the curriculum and opportunities for intercultural interactions and experiences for our staff and students.

On being appointed, Jo said:

"I strongly believe that we have a ‘moment’ for educational change and an opportunity to make international education a reality. I am delighted to continue to work with colleagues on further developing and growing existing and new schemes for global learning, collaborate closely with our strategic partners and ensure that Warwick delivers a sector-leading, excellent student learning journey which is international, interdisciplinary and inclusive."

Professor Lorenzo Frigerio supports the appointment saying:

"I am delighted to welcome Jo as our new Deputy Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Education and Internationalisation). Jo has a wealth of expertise in building educational partnerships around the world and an internationally excellent academic profile, as testified by her thought leadership work, and honorary affiliations including the recent appointment to the Lonnoy Chair for Multilingualism of the Brussels Centre for Language Studies at Vrije Universiteit Brussel. I am looking forward to working with Jo and colleagues across the Education and International teams to further develop our international education offer for our student community.”

Jo is an ex officio WIHEA Fellow and a project lead - we're excited to see what she does in this new post!
