The Tempest Study Day

Friday 13 October 2006 10am-4.15pm
The Courtyard Theatre, Stratford-upon-Avon

The CAPITAL Centre presents a day of talks and practical activities based on Shakespeare’s THE TEMPEST, held in the RSC’s new theatre, The Courtyard. It will bring together a number of different perspectives on the text and offers opportunities for students to explore a range of critical and theatrical approaches to the play. Actors from the current RSC production will share and discuss their working experience.

Participation in this study day is offered to undergraduates taking Shakespeare and Selected Dramatists (EN301), Seventeenth Century Literature and Culture (EN228), Shakespeare from Page to Stage to Page (EN337), and Theatre and Ideology: Exilic Perspectives. Students are expected to have seen the RSC production of THE TEMPEST for which tickets will be provided for the performance at the Royal Shakespeare Theatre on Wednesday 11 October.

Transport will be provided from the Warwick campus to Stratford-upon-Avon and back for the theatre performance and the study day.
