CIM Summer Grant Sprint
Daily Times: 9:30am coffee/tea, 10am start, 1pm lunch, 5pm finish (but staff can follow their own schedule)
Purpose: The grant sprint will be an intensive week of research application planning, writing and development. The aim is to for participants to significantly develop a project or application so that by the end of the week they will have a decent draft of core elements of a proposal.
Pre-sprint preparation: Do some initial research. Be familiar enough with your subject area or topic that you are ready to begin drafting a proposal. In short, don’t come totally ‘cold’, as you will not be able to write anything. Start thinking about possible collaborators or partners, if relevant for your plans. Identify the funding source you wish to apply to and be sure you are familiar with the requirements and other conditions of the funder.
Format: The CIM Pink Room will be the main location. In-person attendance on Monday, Thursday and Friday (9th, 12th, 13th) is strongly encouraged, and the Pink Room will be available for the entire week for those wishing to work together in-person. For those unable to attend in person, a Grant Sprint Teams channel will be available for chat and video participation. If anyone isn’t comfortable working together in-person for long periods, you are welcome to work in your office and join discussions/activities as desired.
