Proof of Concept

Proof of concept funding to support the commercialisation of existing research to enable spinouts or social ventures, licencing or other commercialisation pathways. UKRI has put an intention to submit step in place to assess demand for the funding, and may introduce an cap on the number of applications any institution may submit when the full call opens. Offers awards of up to £250k FEC over 12 months, with a minimum of £100k FEC for 6 months.
