Exchanges - Call for Papers: Challenge and Opportunity

For the issue of Exchanges scheduled for publication in Spring 2021, the Exchanges journal invites authors to submit original, exciting, insightful manuscripts for publication consideration inspired by the Challenge and Opportunity theme. Authors are encouraged to consider contributing pieces which address any aspect, perspective, development or individuals related to this theme. Manuscript submissions as potential peer-reviewed research articles, or alternatively as critical reflection or conversation pieces, would all be welcomed under this call.

As an early career researcher focused journal, we especially invite authors embarking on their research careers to consider submitting a piece. Exchanges seeks to provide support and encouragement to all submitting individuals, especially first time writers, in terms of developing their authorial voice. While submissions are invited from all disciplinary perspectives, we would be especially pleased to receive manuscripts from previously under-represented fields or geographic regions within Exchanges.

Deadlines
> Peer-reviewed articles 1st Nov 2020
> Conversations or critical reflections:28th February 2021.

You can access and download the full details of the call on the Exchanges website

WIRL-COFUND - Final cohort recruited and an exciting new opportunity for the future

We have recently completed the recruitment of the final cohort of the IAS WIRL COFUND fellows and we are delighted to announce that the following fellows will be joining us from September:

  • Dr Luca Peretti - SMLC - Connecting Cultures GRP
  • Sr Svenia Janke - Chemistry - Energy GRP
  • Dr William Fysh - History - Connecting Cultures GRP
  • Dr Marta Neves - Chemistry - Health GRP
  • Dr Andrei Bespalov - Philosophy - Connecting Cultures GRP

This represents the final round of recruitment for the WIRL-COFUND programme, but we are excited to announce that the new EUTOPIA-SIF fellowship scheme will start recruiting in Autumn 2020.  This scheme is run in collaboration with our EUTOPIA partners and will recruit 76 postdoctoral scholars over the next five years who will undertake a two-year fellowship to establish themselves as future research leaders.  Twenty of the fellows will be based at Warwick but all fellows will be able to strengthen their research and networks by spending time at other institutions in the EUTOPIA alliance.

Published by the IAS since 2013, this latest issue includes articles on game playing lizards, academic fraud, televisual Shakespeare, cultural cannibalism and reflections on computer gaming scholarship. It also contains a conversation with University College Dublin’s Professor Quinn DuPont on the topic of the Distributed Autonomous Organisation. This issue also includes a thematic call for papers and an editorial outlining some recent developments for the title.
