IATL’s deputy director visits universities in California for his ‘Shakespeare, Performance and Pedagogy’ project

IATL’s deputy director, Dr Jonathan Heron, visited universities in California over the vacation as part of his IPF-funded project ‘Shakespeare, Performance and Pedagogy’ with Dr Paul Prescott (English). To coincide with the Shakespeare in Yosemite event, Prescott and Heron delivered workshops for students from UC Davis, UC Merced and the University of the Pacific, Stockton. Dr Heron also visited UC Davis to present on their interdisciplinary Performance Studies programme.

IATL director collects honourable mention for ICUR at the 2017 Andrew Heiskell Awards for Innovation in International Education

The Institute of International Education presented its prestigious Heiskell Awards in Miami in March. IATL’s director, Dr Nicholas Monk, was there to collect an honourable mention for the International Conference of Undergraduate Research (ICUR) in the ‘International Partnerships’ category. HE institutions from around the world entered the process, which seeks to recognise progress towards eliminating institutional barriers, furthering internationalisation, and broadening the base of participation.

IATL staff visit to Singapore

Two members of IATL staff, Caroline Gibson and Amy Clarke, travelled to Nanyang Technological University (NTU) in Singapore in January for discussions with International Conference of Undergraduate Research (ICUR) colleagues from NTU and Monash University. The visit was a great success and further cemented the relationships between the three institutions. Follow the link for more about ICUR.

Artworks in The Oculus

The works from the University of Warwick Art Collection chosen for installation in The Oculus are intended to enhance its multi-disciplinary environment and act as informal provocations for ideas. Staff and students, including IATL’s Director, Dr Nicholas Monk, were invited to contribute labels to accompany the works of art to open up their areas of enquiry to the users of the building. ICUR receives honourable mention in Awards for Innovation in International Education

ICUR (The International Conference of Undergraduate Research) has received an Honorable Mention for Warwick in the 'International Partnerships' category in this year's awards from the Institute of International Education (IEE).

Monash and Warwick staff and students hold workshop week

Two staff members and three students from Monash visited IATL recently to work with us on key joint initiatives: the International Conference of Undergraduate Research (ICUR) and the undergraduate research journal Reinvention, both based in IATL and supported by the Monash-Warwick Alliance, are being combined with a new initiative, the Compass Programme, to become the ICUR Experience. Compass will support a new student network and collaborative undergraduate research across institutions internationally.
