Paid Student Work Opportunity

Part-time student web developer

A part-time student web developer is required to assist on a project funded by the Institute of Advanced Teaching and Learning (IATL) to develop an online game-building resource. The project aims to develop a web-based resource consisting of a blank memory game template which users (University staff and students) can populate with their own images to create their own games. The successful applicant will be responsible for developing the user interface and instructions for creating games, which will be hosted in SiteBuilder, and will also help to run two half day test sessions and a half day workshop at which participants can create their own games. Previous experience in web design, preferably using SiteBuilder and/or HTML/JavaScript, is essential.

The post will involve 60 hours work at the rate of £10.73 per hour. A large part of this work can be carried out from home; the first 30 hours could take place in the Easter vacation. You will need to be available for the two half day test sessions, one end of March/early April, one end of April/early May, plus one half day workshop in May. The timing of these sessions is flexible and can be arranged to fit with your lecture/revision/exam commitments. Please indicate in your covering letter your availability to be present at the University to help run these three half day sessions during the time windows outlined below:
