Description

The vision for the Designing Together project is to further Warwick’s reputation as a key thought leader in design thinking and its applications for co-creation and innovation in HE. Since receiving initial funding through WIHEA in 22/23 academic year, the project was featured in the recent TEF Gold campaign and has had a significant impact in the sector, working with 6 other universities, and having engaged 150+ educators and professionals via invited presentations, workshops and conference talks at Advance HE, RAISE, AHEP (former AUA), Academic Registrars Conference, etc. The project has led to invitations to consult on projects and submissions of bids of various scales to bodies such as the QAA. It has also led to several publications including a SEDA blog and a Times Higher Education blog, two book chapters, submissions and publications in the Perspectives: Policy and Practice in Higher Education and the International Journal for Students as Partners. One of the key outcomes of this project so far has been a prototype card deck for facilitating designerly conversations, design projects and initiatives based on principles of co-creation and design thinking. Thanks to IATL's support and funding , this project continues to expand by further iterating and printing the Designing Together card deck. Since receiving the funding, the team presented their work at internal and external to Warwick events and masterclasses where they introduced and showcased the cards whilst gathering further impact data and feedback. The cards and further project resources will be made available to the Warwick community at the start of the 2024/25 academic year. Please get in touch with Bo and Jess for further information. We would love to hear about your projects and help you integrate the cards into your practice.
