Reinventing Education

Assessment

Within the assessment on the Reinventing Education module the focus is on identifying, questioning, and reconfiguring the challenges faced by contemporary education. In its sessions the module explores key questions such as: What is a successful educational experience made up of? Who benefits from different types of educational models and practices, and why? Where and how does education need to change and innovate? The module will draw upon many contrasting forms of pedagogy - traditional, creative, progressive, student-centred, discovery-led, flipped, problem-based, hybrid - to explore the needs and expectations of 21st century learners. As we enter, arguably, a new educational epoch that will be increasingly defined by digital technology, such as the proliferation of things like online learning, Artificial Intelligence and virtual reality, how should education communicate with its learners; how should it assess them? If you were to take this module you would be asked to take a 'deep dive' into an area of education you think is worth reinventing. Within your SDA - which can take an original and creative form - you are asked to contribute to furthering understanding of how and why education may need to be reinvented, reconfigured, reimagined.
