Location
The User Meeting will he held at The Spine Building, Liverpool.
The Spine is located in Paddington Village at the heart of the Knowledge Quarter in Liverpool's City Centre.
How to get there?
Travelling by Train:
- Nearest train station: Liverpool Lime Street – 19 minute walk – £5-6 taxi
Travelling by Car:
- The nearest car park is Paddington Village Multi-Storey.
- Standard day tariff: £12.00

Travelling by Plane:
- The closest airport is Liverpool John Lennon AirportLink opens in a new window.
- A taxi/ride-share is a 15-minute car journey and is the quickest and most direct way to reach The Spine from the airport.
- Alternatively, buses from the airport run to the city centre, (500 and 86A). From the centre, you can walk or take a local bus to Paddington Village where The Spine is located.
- London Heathrow, Gatwick and Luton airports are all connected to Liverpool by National ExpressLink opens in a new window coach services.
- Alternatively, you can take the TrainLink opens in a new window to Liverpool Lime Street, with a change in Central London.
Expenses:
- We will pay expenses for standard UK travel, including your parking and mileage.
- Please note that we cannot accept bank or credit card statements in lieu of receipts.
- Mileage is paid at 45p per mile.

User Meeting - 14th January (10:30 am until 5 pm)
This day will showcase recent research conducted at the beamline, covering a range of characterisation techniques and scientific areas. This friendly event will be a combination of invited talks and ‘pop-up’ presentations punctuated by informal discussion to nurture new projects and collaborations.
The beamline staff will also be present and available for you to discuss how XMaS can help with your scientific studies. Please encourage colleagues and others who may be interested, or just curious, to come along and see the kind of science that can be done.
