XMaS Scientist Experience 2020

Project Background

Launched in 2015, the XMaS Scientist Experience is a UK national competition for Year 12 female Physics students to win an all expenses paid 4-day trip to the ESRF in Grenoble, France.

The aim:

To encourage young women to consider science careers, foster a sense of community, encourage self-belief.

You don't need to excel at Physics to have a chance to win. Be passionate, be creative, share you enthusiasm with us!

The competition:

This year, students are asked to write a two page essay on 'Jocelyn Bell Burnell: her contributions to science and her role in the advancement of women in STEM subjects' and to tell us more about 'What is XMaS, in which ways do you expect to benefit from the visit to the European Synchrotron Research Facility and how might the visit affect your future career?'
