Publication in the Journal of Materials Chemistry A.
Alice and the Williams Group team publish studies on doping ZnO nanoparticles using reactive organometallic precursors. These doped nanoparticles are used in conjuction with Cu nanoparticles for the hydrogenation of CO2 to methanol. Al-doping improves the catalytic ability of these systems.
New Publication in ACS Infectious Diseases
Great to see a big collaborative effort published. ZnO nanoparticles capped with oleate ligands are used to make effective antibacterial surfaces when combined with crystal violet dye when tested under realisitic hospital like conditions. Effective against problematic bacterial strains of E.Coli, MRSA and C. Difficile.
Congrats to Amman for URSS funding
Amman has secured funding to join the group as a URSS student this summer and will be working on the photochemistry of titanium-oxo clusters.
Seminar at York
It was great to visit the University of York to share some of our research and to meet many of the academics in the chemistry department!
Seminar at UCL
Great to visit UCL and catch up with previous colleagues, especially Dr. Anna regoutz and Dr Clare Bakewell. Thanks for the invitation to present some of Pike group research on metal-oxo cluster chemistry!
