Degree Apprenticeships

Develop expertise in fundamental civil engineering principles to enhance the quality of life for present and future generations.

Our new degree apprenticeship in Electromechanical Engineering.

What is a Degree Apprenticeship?

A Degree Apprenticeship combines work with study. You’ll spend 80% of your time at work and 20% studying towards a full bachelor’s degree.

It is a debt-free path to a university education. Your tuition fees are paid by your employer and you earn a competitive apprenticeship salary. You’ll have the opportunity to apply your theoretical learning to real life projects in the workplace.

Learning and teaching

Apprentices learn skills on the job through an integrated programme of work-based learning.

Teaching is delivered via a blended approach. Six one-week residential blocks at the University of Warwick each year bring your apprentice group together. During these blocks you’ll attend lectures, seminars, take part in other learning activities and spend time with academic and non-academic staff in the School of Engineering.

Blended elements of the course include lectures and online collaborative work, supported by the University’s electronic Virtual Learning Environment (VLE). VLE will supplement and further the learning begun during residentials, as well as providing academic support for ongoing projects in the workplace.

What you’ll be doing

As you progress through your apprenticeship you will gain more knowledge and experience.

You can expect to be stretched and challenged, but supported throughout your apprenticeship as you focus on building-up the knowledge, skills and behaviours that you require to be a professionally qualified engineer (IEng).

Our apprenticeships are exciting and demanding, so we’re looking for exceptional, engaged and motivated people who are passionate about the industry and being part of a once in a lifetime educational and training experience.

Hear from our apprentices

Sabrina "Doing an apprenticeship is challenging and I strongly believe that you need to be in a supportive environment to thrive.

At Warwick, that’s exactly what I got from day one. From the lecturers to the course coordinators everyone is supportive and helpful."
