EVGP - UK Event
For 2013, the Warwick Racing EV Grand Prix team have partnered with Cheltenham Motorsports and Coventry University to launch a UK-based evGP competition with the Inaugural Race to be held at the 2013 Sustainable MotoExpo on 28-29th September 2013.
The Sustainable MotoExpo 2013 is a pioneering motor racing event on the streets of Cheltenham, exclusively showcasing electric and low-carbon emission vehicles.
The Cheltenham Sustainable MotoExpo aims to be the world’s first ever low-carbon street race, highlighting Gloucestershire as an exemplar region for business growth, through a sustainable low-carbon economy.
The event aims to inspire future engineers and designers through a range of events looking into the future of motorsport and transport.
The EVGP Competition will take place over both days, and will feature three key events:
- A wheel to wheel race between UK and US EVGP Universities to be held on a custom-designed race circuit at Gloucestershire Airport.
- An on-street Eco-challenge to measure energy-efficiency and vehicle endurance
- A design-competition judged by EV Experts, academics and members of the Automotive Press.
