The main electronic components of the system are the circuit board, cabling, radio receiver and motors. The circuit board must be very small allowing installation within the chassis without obstructing the wheels.

All the robots have onboard electronic boards, termed ‘control boards’, which accept radio communication and modulate power to the motors. The control boards also include switches to assign robots different radio IDs; rotary encoders attached to the motors to allow feedback control of wheel speeds; in-circuit programming and debugging facilities; and motor current feedback.
