Researcher receives Best Paper Award at international conference
Mr Sanju Thomas, Researcher at the School of Engineering recently attended the Sixth International Conference on Advances in Circuits, Electronics and Micro-electronics (CENICS) in Barcelona, where he was awarded ‘Best Paper’ for his work entitled High-frequency One-port Colpitts SAW Oscillator for Chemical Sensing.
Mr Sanju Thomas focuses on ratiometric info-chemical communication using surface acoustic wave (SAW) microsensors and is currently working towards the VLSI integration of SAW biosensors in order to form a monolithic Bio-MEMS chip. This novel communication system helps in encoding, transmitting and decoding chemical information over distances.
Mr Thomas is pictured with his co-supervisor and head of the Microsensors and Biomedical Laboratory, Professor Julian Gardner. He was also co-supervised by Dr Marina Cole.
Further information about Mr Thomas' work can be found on the Microsensors and Bioelectronics Laboratory webpage.
