Zhanbo Cheng, CSC funded PhD student started in October 2017 at the University of Warwick. Zhanbo was born in 1993, Shandong Province, China. He completed his Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering in 2014 from Shandong University of Science and Technology China and obtained his Master's by Research degree in Mining Engineering in China University of Mining and Technology (Beijing) in 2017. His master dissertation focused on the determination of support working resistance on fully mechanized top-coal caving mining face based on coal-rock meterial mechanical properties by using laboratory tests, the theory of beam on elastic foundation, and numerical simulation (FLAC3D, UDEC). Currently, he is pursuing his PhD degree in the research fields of the stability analysis of transport embankments, ground improvement techniques and soil dynamics.
