David Hutchins joined the School in 1988. His research interests are in the design and fabrication of ultrasonic systems, including transducers and sensors formed by micromachining techniques, infrared and other electromagnetic measurement techniques, security screening methods, communications and imaging. Applications being investigated include materials characterisation, flow measurement, non-destructive evaluation, medical imaging, and high power ultrasound. He is an Enterprise Champion for the University. He is Director of the Advanced Imaging and Measurement (AIM) Lab - see link.
