WCPM Seminar - Lukas Hörmann, University of Warwick
Location: D.202, School of Engineering
Lukas Hörmann recently commenced a position as a Marie Curie Research Fellow at the University of Warwick. His research focuses on understanding dynamic processes occurring at surfaces, with an emphasis on atomic-scale friction. Employing density functional theory, machine learning, and molecular dynamics he investigates the atomic-scale mechanisms (phononic, electronic, interfacial PES) of energy dissipation that give rise to friction to develop strategies to tailor material properties to control individual dissipation channels.
