Lorenzo Quarisa

Lorenzo

I'm a third year PhD student, working under the supervision of Prof. Jose Rodrigo.

My research lies in mathematical fluid dynamics. In particular, I'm currently focusing on the vanishing viscosity problem for the Navier-Stokes equations: can inviscid fluids be approximated by low-viscosity fluids, even when a boundary is present? After more than a century, there is still no rigorous answer. The same goes for models that predict the presence of a boundary layer where the viscous fluid behaves differently, such as Prandtl's equation.

Before coming to Warwick, I obtained my master's at the University of Turin and my bachelor's at the University of Trento, in Italy.
