Are You Interested in Developing New Research Interests?

Are you interested in developing new research studies?

As well as supporting the local delivery of research, the PCRN aims to facilitate increase in the number of locally-led and locally-relevant high quality research studies. Two research fellows, one at Warwick Medical School and one at Coventry University, are working with us to develop proposals and seek funding for new studies. The most successful proposals, however, are developed by teams - so clinical input from GP or nurse collaborators is essential.

We are keen to develop our database of GP, practice nurse and pharmacist research interests.  This will enable us to approach you directly about new research you may be interested in that is still at the ideas stage, giving you the opportunity to be involved in the proposal development, helping ensure the research is relevant to you and practical to run.  We will only contact you if a research idea falls in your area of interest (unless you tell us otherwise).

We are also developing a list of local academics’ research interests, so if you already have a research question you would like answered or an idea for a study, we can help you make links to established local researchers who share your interests.

We are currently looking for GPs, nurses or other healthcare professionals who are interested in the following research topics:  diabetes and oral health; management of breast cancer patients in primary care specifically medication adherence; primary care-based interventions for childhood bullying and breastfeeding support and management.

If you would like to join our database of GPs or Practice Nurses with special interests, or have your own research idea please contact Emma Scott on 024 7657 4654 email:  e.j.scott@warwick.ac.uk or Naomi Bartle on 024 7679 5497, email: naomi.bartle@coventry.ac.uk
