The Experiences of Chinese Caregivers Caring for Chinese People at End of Life Care

We would like to invite you to take part in this research or help disseminate it in your work place and social networks. The research is being carried out by Mrs Susan Zhao as part of a PhD under the supervision of Professor Jeremy Dale and Dr Rachel Potter at Warwick Medical School, University of Warwick. The purpose of this study is to understand the experiences of Chinese caregivers caring for Chinese people at end of life in community settings and explore the ways to improve such experiences.

Eligible Criteria: 

· Aged 18 and over

· Living in England

· Currently caring for a Chinese adult at end of life in an English community setting or with such experience within the last five years

· Chinese cultural background

· Able to speak English, Mandarin, Cantonese or Hakka

· Able to consent

 

We aim to recruit 50 participants in England by the end of Jan 2021 for a one hour interview, either face to face or via video link and have so far recruited 29 participants in 57 days. The research has been welcomed by Chinese communities and has received support from many communities, residential homes, religious centres and associations including the Chinese Community Centre-Birmingham, Cherish House, the Chinese Association of Cancer etc.
